DVDs

Saturday - My brother's first scheduled duty for his entire medschool career was set for Sunday, so our family decided to celebrate Father's Day an entire day early. We had breakfast at Something Fishy (Daddy loves the P80 breakfast buffet!), then we went to Metrowalk to buy DVDs. I'd been to Metrowalk before, but this was the first time I'd gone there to buy DVDs.
I had heard that a lot of the DVD stalls that used to be in Greenhills had transferred there, but it was up until Saturday, so I tried looking for my suki. She wasn't there. :( I found that weird, because, since Virra Mall closed, I'd been going to Makati Cinema Square and the Shaw MRT Station to look for DVDs. She wasn't in any of those places either.
What really got to me was that I'd ask the sellers, "DVD copy na ba ito," whenever I'd see a DVD of a movie that, obviously, did not have an original DVD available in the market yet (i.e. movies that were still showing in cinemas in the US), and they would all answer in the affirmative. That answer was either a blatant lie or a sign of ignorance on the part of the people selling. I found that whole thing irritating. The reason why I had a suki before was that she was the only one in Greenhills (when she was still there) who would honestly tell me if it was a DVD copy(great), clear copy(pwede na), or a movie copy (shitty). I didn't even have to test the DVDs because she was totally honest with that and, whenever I'd watch at home, I'd get what I wanted.
Since all the sellers in Metrowalk claimed that all the stuff they were selling were DVD copies (and there was no way of testing, since they had just opened and hadn't up their TVs and players yet), I ended up looking for old movies that definitely had original DVDs out, but in any case, I still ended up with one movie copy. :(
I know that they just cost P65 each, but I still felt kinda bad about that. I guess, the next time I go buy DVDs, I have to go later in the day and make sure that I test everything I buy. :( Bad trip.
All this trouble just so that I wouldn't end up shelling out P1,200 on an original DVD. Yuck, ang tiyane!

26 years

Today is my 26th birthday. I am now entering the last year of my "mid-20s" (24-26). Next year I'll be hitting my "late-20s" (27-29).

Wow, here are the top 5 things that happened to me since my 25th birthday:
(1) I graduated from law school. This marks the end of 23 consecutive years of studying. :) (I CANNOT believe that I've been in school since I was 2 years old! Wow!)
(2) I became cool with ALL of my exes. (ex-boyfriends and ex-boylets! even ex-friends!) No more issues! (Well, almost!)
(3) I survived the end of a fling. For someone who gets emotionally attached really fast, this is a miracle! This was my first fling pa. Ok ba?

Well, a lot of other things happened since June 15, 2004, I think these were the most significant. Other people who know me might actually ask me why I chose these 3 over some of the others. I dunno. I guess the fact that these were the first 3 things that popped into my head must have meant something, right? :)

To everyone who means (or meant) something to me: Thanks for helping me survive the past 26 years. :)
